Course programme
Course Overview
This course is for students who are able to respond to instructions, work in a group and who want to learn to be more independent.
Students will experience basic cooking skills. Most students will be working at an experiential level.
Course Structure
The course will include:
- Cooking simple meals, snacks and desserts.
- Health & Safety and hygiene.
- Food preparation.
- The importance of clearing away.
3 hrs per week for 36 weeks

Qualification Aims
Upon successful completion of this course students will achieve a recognised certificate.
Assessments/Examinations
Students will complete a portfolio of work.
Cost / Equipment
Tuition is free to those who can provide evidence of being in receipt of income support
£35.00 Material costs.
£2.00 per week to cover the cost of shopping and food.
£15.00 Registration & Certificates
All fees to be paid to the tutor at the start of the course. All other fees are the responsibility of the applicant including refreshments, visits etc.
