Level 2 award in Food Safety in Catering

Today, more than ever, we are concerned with the food we eat, where it has come from and how it was prepared. Food related stories seem to make the front page on a near weekly basis and the whole subject of food has captivated the interest of the public, and more importantly your customers.

In January 2006, the law relating to food hygiene in the UK and Europe changed, with the introduction of European food hygiene regulation. With the introduction of these new laws, the European Union and the UK Government have introduced new standards which aim to improve food hygiene.

The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) and Brentwood Borough Council Level 2 award in Food Safety in Catering was introduced in 2007 to assist you, the caterer, in preparing food safely. The course replaces the Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene, and provides up to date information on food hygiene.

This is your chance for you and your staff to attend the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health accredited Level 2 Award in Food Hygiene in Catering course, which is generally considered to be the leader in this area.

The Subjects covered includes:

  • Introduction to food safety
  • Current law Food safety hazards
  • Temperature control
  • Refrigeration, chilling and cold handling of foods
  • Priniciples os safe food storage
  • Food premises and equipment

The course concludes with a short, multi-choice examination.
