Course Overview
This course is for aspiring Music Performers or Music Producers with some knowledge of performing or producing music. You will experience an active learning environment where you will be developing your skills as a performer or producer.
You will explore a wide variety of musical subjects that will allow you to experience all aspects of working in the music industry. You will also undertake a range of projects that include live sound set up, composition, production skills, performance skills, and industry experience. You are encouraged to take an experimental and open-minded approach to exploring ideas which challenge and develop creative thinking and music skills.
We have great facilities here at Croydon School of Art, including Mac Suites with Logic Pro and Pro Tools, Digital and Analogue Recording Suites, isolated studios, a range of dynamic and condenser microphones, dedicated rehearsal spaces, and live sound PA systems. You will be taught by music specialists and practitioners who use their breadth of knowledge to support your studies.
Good English and maths skills are essential for success in studying and for future employment prospects and so Croydon College ensures that these skills are developed in all learning opportunities.
It’s also important to have good English and maths qualifications and so all students will study English and maths and work towards an appropriate level and type of qualification including GCSE. This will be part of all 16-18 year old students’ Study Programme alongside their main vocational or academic qualification and will be discussed with students at interview.
