Level 2 Spa Therapy

This course is for learners who are interested in obtaining skills to work in a beauty salon, spa, or as a freelance beauty therapist. Learners need to have good attendance, time keeping and enjoy the rewarding challenge of offering a full service portfolio to clients
Entry RequirementsBeauty Therapy NVQ L2
Four GCSE's - One grade C and three grade D including English Language or equivalent. Acceptance will be by interview, satisfactory reference and intial diagnostic assessment.
Beauty NVQ L2, Top-up, Facial, Eye, G Units
The evening top-up L2 is an evening course which needs learners to be proficient in manicure, pedicure, make up, waxing, as facials and eye treatments are the practical techniques taught with examinations and theoretical support for those that want to claim full L2 qualification.
Course Content
Beauty Therapy NVQ L2
Study areas include:·Anatomy and Physiology·Beauty treatment related theory·Customer service·Health and Safety·Manicure and Pedicure·Facial Treatments·Assisting with Spa·Eye treatments·Salon hygiene and salon management roles.

All students have the opportunity to go on various industry related trips and visits to emplyers throughout the training. There is also competition work all learners can participate in.
This is a one-year course where students normally attend for three days, which may include an evening slot and a Saturday morning slot dependent on the allocated group.

How will I be assessed?
Assessment is ongoing throughout the year, with direct observation of skills in a practical setting, formal examinations, and completion of a comprehensive portfolio. This will include formative assessments in the manner of assignments, group work, poster work, presentations and task sheets.
What can I do next?
Progression onto NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy, Level 3 Massage or Spa or employment in the beauty industry or basic Counselling and Life Coaching courses are an option. It is also possible to seek employment as a beauty therapist, spa therapist, freelance therapist, beauty consultant for cosmetic house or cosmetic line product trainer.
