The course involves assignment work and some exams in the following topics. QCF Administration (Business Professional) DIPLOMA @ Level 3 Assignments (not exhaustive) oProduce complex business documents oUnderstanding functions and roles within business organisations oSupporting recruitment and selection procedures oVerbal communication in business oReviewing and developing office procedures oWorking in an administration team oSupport business meetings oOrganising a business event oCarry out research and prepare a report oApply legislation affecting organisations Exams (OCR Business Professional Suite) - if all gained oText Production oSpeed typing oBusiness Presentations oMail mergeThe course is designed to give 16 hours+ tuition per week with 1 weeks work experience. This course is of a very practical nature with time being spent on gaining the essential keyboarding, text processing and administrative skills. You will need to allow time to work on your assignments independently. All students complete 4 weeks of work experience in the workplace. This work experience is an essential part of the course as it provides vital evidence for your assignments. Your employers will be asked to provide witness statements of your performance at work and an assessor will observe you in the workplace. The college has excellent links with local companies and organisations and our students have in the past undertaken administrative work experience at Hampshire County Council, Eastleigh Borough Council, Office Angels, NatWest Bank, Tate Recruitment, local schools and B&Q, to name but a few. The College will attempt to find you work experience locally to minimise travel expenses, but students are expected to contribute finding their own placement.
