Secretarial/Personal Assistant
OCR/Pitman - Two-year course
This two-year advanced programme leads to the OCR Administration (Business Professional) Level 3, a professionally recognised qualification. It is ideal for students who are considering a career as a Secretary or Personal Assistant.

The aim of the Diploma is to assess the candidate's knowledge, understanding and practical ability in relation to the full range of secretarial functions demanded of a Secretary/ Personal Assistant working at senior level.

The Diploma course will provide:
  • The opportunity to develop advanced IT skills
  • The knowledge to provide good administrative skills across a wide range of areas including meetings and travel
  • The opportunity to study Teeline shorthand, a valuable and sought after skill

The College has excellent links with companies both locally and in the City, and arranges two periods of work experience for all students. Also included is detailed interview preparation which culminates in an interview carried out by professionals in the world of business.

The course involves both individual and team working. All students will also take an A Level (if qualified) or GCSE subject.

Careers and Further Studies
The majority of students completing this course take up employment either in the City or locally. Progression to Higher Education is possible with certain universities.

General Entry Requirements
At least four GCSEs at grade C or above, which should include English Language or a related vocational qualification at Merit level, plus GCSE English Language at grade C or above.
