I have requested some information for my staff regarding the Level 4 early years. I would like to know if this is a full and relevant recognised qualification. H0w long does it take and are there any entrance requirements. Cheers Karen Blundell

Hi Natasha, Apologies for the delay. I have spoken to the tutor and she has said that it depends which direction you would like to go in. The FdA Early Years practice is two years long and is validated by Liverpool John Moores. The course is delivered at the college on a Wednesday and Thursday 5-9 with optional tutorial slots 4-5. Once completed, the student gains a level 5 in early years. This is a full and relevant qualification. The students can then progress onto the BA Top Up Early Years Practice which is validated by University of Chester. The degree runs the same delivery plan as the FdA. The top up is a year long and the students will leave with a BA (Hons) Early Years Practice. The top us is led by Cath Barker. If you are looking for more of a work based learning route, my colleague Tammy Halliday will be able to provide you with more information. You can email her on thalliday@sthelens.ac.uk. Hope this helps. If you do have any further enquiries, please don't
