About this course

The aim of this level 4 advanced course is to provide an in-depth knowledge of food safety and food hygiene. Holders of this qualification will have the appropriate knowledge and understanding of food safety to develop and implement food
safety management systems.

This Level 4 course is intended for anyone who has responsibility for food safety e.g. food business operators, managers, food hygiene managers, logistics, quality assurance, technical staff, HACCP team members, auditors.

Candidates should not enter, with another awarding body, for a Level Four qualification in managing food safety. Candidates must book at least 7 days before the start of the course. Candidates should be prepared to set time outside the course for answering set homework, reading around the subject and, preparing for the exam. Candidates should have a training to at least Level 3 in Food Safety and or Level 3 in HACCP. Candidates should have good levels of English literacy and good standard of maths. Neat hand writing is also useful.m

RSPH Level 4 Award in Food Safety Management for

This qualification is Ofqual regulated and issued by the RSPH (Royal Society of Public Health).

RSPH is a longstanding national awarding body that provides vocational health-related qualifications. The RSPH are recognised by Ofqual to award regulated qualifications in a range of subjects including pest control, health improvement and food safety.

Ofqual (The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) regulates qualifications, examinations and assessments in England.

Assessment

Attainment of the Learning Outcomes will be assessed by a synoptic examination set by RSPH. The examination will consist of two papers. All questions on both of the papers have to be answered. The qualification is graded as either Pass or Distinction. Candidates who fail to reach the minimum standard for the Pass grade will be recorded as having failed the assessment and will not receive a certificate.
