  • I am presently reaching the midway in my Media course and though I am not associated with them for long, I feel it has been an awesome involvement so far. Support team is ready to assist and assist dexterously. The only glitch I had was my trainer who did not reply for sometime because she ended her association with the company. But regardless of such a problem, as soon as I got in touch with the support, I was promptly given another trainer and things went normal.

  • I was slightly dubious of lengthy distance learning, but when I discovered the Level 3 Diploma in Media Studies, I decided to give it a try as it would enhance my skills in my present job as a teacher. I could complete the course along with my job in a year. I had great assistance from mentors who replied promptly to any doubts I had and gave awesome input on my submitted assignments. I would surely go for another course with NCC.

Course Description

In an industrialised society like Britain all of us are exposed to the media many times a day, from the breakfast show on the radio or TV, to watching films, to using the internet for our news and social networking. It is a powerful influence on how we perceive ourselves and our position in society. The speed of change in the media landscape means that the way we consume the media texts is changing very fast. Mobile phones now broadcast soaps, and games are played internationally. Increasingly; people are making and disseminating their own texts via social networking sites and YouTube. They even contribute to the news by filming events to be used as citizen journalism on national stations such as the BBC and Sky.

Marketing is absolutely vital. You could have the best product in the country, or offer the best service in your town, but without marketing, nobody would know about it. In simple terms, marketing is how you communicate a brand. It is the process of determining the needs and wants of consumers, and being able to deliver the products or service that satisfies those needs and wants. Its key purpose is finding, getting, keeping and developing customers in a way that will lead to the growth and success of a business. Marketing is the umbrella term that covers a number of essential practices for any business, including research, development, promotion, product sales and service. The most important part of marketing is that it is 100% about the customer and by fully embracing marketing, you are making a company more customer-focused.

This programme fuses the two concepts of media and marketing together in order to give the learner a broad based overview of the two different disciplines and how they interact with each other. A useful tool for people looking to embrace the whole culture of media and marketing and gain an understanding of both models.
