Track 2: for NON-AAU BFA in Art Education graduates
The Art Education Master of Arts in Teaching program will prepare you for a career as a successful and innovative art teacher in classrooms K-12. This program meets both national and California art education standards, and includes one semester of student teaching in a public school classroom, mentored by a master teacher. Once you have completed all coursework and student teaching requirements, and passed both cycles of California Teacher Performance Assessment testing, you will be recommended for a California K-12 art teaching credential. For your Capstone project, you will be encouraged to think like an advocate in order to create a dynamic arts advocacy video to educate the public about the importance of art education to a 21st century creative economy.

Academy of Art University Learning Outcomes
Graduates of the Academy of Art University will demonstrate the ability to:
Produce a body of work suitable for seeking professional opportunities in their chosen field of art and design.
Solve creative problems within their field of art and design, including research and synthesis of technical, aesthetic, and conceptual knowledge.
Communicate their ideas professionally and connect with their intended audience using visual, oral, and written presentation skills relevant to their field.
Execute technical, aesthetic, and conceptual decisions based on an understanding of art and design principles.
