About this course

For entry onto the MAP programme an IELTS 6.0 or equivalent is required, including a minimum of 5.5 in each component.
If you do not meet the IELTS requirement, you can take the Extended English Programme:

Masters Accelerator Programme with 8 weeks Extended English: an IELTS 5.5 or equivalent is required, including a minimum of 5.0 in each component.
Masters Accelerator Programme with 14 weeks Extended English: an IELTS 5.0 or equivalent is required, including a minimum of 4.5 in each component

· Part One
You’ll study: English for Postgraduate Study; Research Methods for Postgraduate Study; Principles of Business and Management; Independent Research Project; and Business Strategy.

· Part Two
You’ll study: English for Postgraduate Study; Independent Research Project; Business Strategy; and International Business

On the Masters Accelerator Programme, you’ll be provided with the tools you need to research and study successfully at postgraduate level in Business. As an international student, you’ll significantly refine your English skills and increase your confidence through academic reading, speaking and writing.

Additionally, you’ll develop essential independent research abilities that will support you through your MA, and enable you to apply business theories to case studies. You’ll complete the programme with an ‘Independent Research Project’. This will raise your awareness of global issues, building your understanding and helping you develop as a socially engaged global citizen.

You’ll gain the confidence and essential skills you need to progress and succeed on your MA in Business and Management.

Course assessment

You’ll be assessed in a number of ways, including group and individual presentations, essays, quizzes, exams and an independent research report. Attendance and participation will count towards your overall grade.

Teaching methods

 You’ll be tau sght inmall class sizes through a blend of lectures, seminars, and one-on-one tutorials both in person and on Skype. Classes are engaging and interactive – tutors use videos, group work, debates and in-class activities alongside required readings. The programme consists of 24 hours per week of contact time with experienced tutors and includes: 4 hours of English skills for postgraduate study; 16 hours of academic subject seminars and lectures; and 2 hours of personal and academic tutorials
