Who is this course for?
For people who want to improve their numeracy skills for study, work, and personal development.

What previous knowledge/experience are required?
No previous experience is necessary. You will carry out an assessment and your tutor will do a diagnostic assessment with you to ensure the work is pitched at the right level for you.

What is the level of the course?
E1/E2

What will the course cover and what can I expect to do by the end of it?

Course Content will include :
  • Whole numbers
  • Fractions, decimals and percentages
  • Common measures
  • Shape and space
  • Data and statistical measures
  • Probability
What teaching and learning methods will be used on the course?
You will be taught small groups, pair work and individual work. You will be shown ways of integrating your learning outside the classroom. Regular homework will be set.

How will we assess your progress on the course?
There are a variety of progression routes. You can either work towards a higher level of study such as GCSE Maths or join another course in the college. Your tutor will advise you at the end of the course.
