This is the second stage of an apprenticeship where you will learn further mechanical engineering theory, Machining, Bench Fitting, Health & Safety and practical skills/knowledge over a 2 year period You will have to be employed and working in a machining/fitting/manufacturing engineering environment to enrol on this course

What will I learn?

Learn further theory and practical principles of Mechanical Engineering at College as well as in the workplace

How will I be assessed?

Through demonstrating your skills in the workplace and college workshops, sitting exams and tests

What may it lead to?

Students can progress onto Higher National Certificate/Diploma in Engineering

Entry Requirements

You should ideally have 3 GCSE grades of at least C or above, including ICT, English and Mathematics or Functional Skills Entry is also subject to an initial assessment carried out at the College or full completion of the modern apprenticeship You may also have direct entry onto the advanced apprenticeship if you have had previous experience, 'A' levels or accredited prior learning (subject to interview)
