  • My experience so far has been really good. I studied my foundation year in Loughborough and I must say, Coventry is so much more inviting. You really feel supported, and it's much more close knit. Coventry is very good at increasing employability. There are a lot of placement and job fairs, and the careers department are very useful. I recently had a meeting to talk about my placement interview and it was very useful. They also do not expect you to pay for your placement year, which is very handy as some universities will still expect your tuition fees. The lecturers are all very approachable and try to make the lectures as interesting as possible. They are always available to speak to you about anything you might need, and are willing to take time out of their own day to help. The facilities are excellent. I am in the new engineering building and it's amazing. They have everything you could possibly need, and it's very modern and clean. The support is amazing. We have something called a Theta room, where lecturers are obliged to go and sit for at least 3 hours a week to help anyone that goes along. We also have a maths support center where you can go along and ask anything to do with maths. On top of that, the lecturers are usually very quick to answer emails, and are happy to help.

  • So far my experience in this university is great. I love the student life, and the education that I am getting is at a high level. Compared to my previous university this is a huge step up and I am glad that I chose Coventry, for I believe it will prepare me better for the future than my previous course. The degree I am taking is exactly what I was looking for, and the lecturers are great at motivating me to study more. I think the Students Union is great in helping students with their problems and questions about the student life. I have not gotten involved because I have had a lot of obligations to tend to, but hopefully I will get involved soon. I have seen a lot of information around uni about helping the environment and the third world countries, so I would say it is pretty good that they try to stay active in social issues. Good one! Choose Coventry, you won't regret it!

  • Enjoyable, but many issues that makes the experience definitely not best value for money. Lectures don't meet my expectations. I don't feel like all the lectures provide good enough support or teach to a good enough standard. Class sizes are too large with too many students not interested in learning and disrupting the learning of others. I do enjoy the challenges and independence uni life brings.Good wide range of activities. Not always the best to correspond with. They don't always take the time to read emails and answer issues. Some academics are brilliant but they are few and far between. Many will not respond to queries and are mostly unhelpful. They don't treat you in a manner which makes you feel like you're two adults conversing.

What I would highlight: My first year at Covernty University has been intense yet very satisfying, the university is catered to getting employed. I know my next two years will be significantly more difficult but I'm ready for the challenge. Coventry University focuses on improving transferable skills and your own ability to work under pressure, the university is in close contact to business like Jaguar Land Rover, and prioritises employability in there courses. The hands on approach the course has to practical labs investigations. I would highly recommend this University.

What I would highlight: Overall it's been quite good. The uni is expanding and getting better, with the quality of teaching being quite high. Quality of lectures is good and there's plenty of support outside them as well. Facilities are fairly modern. Good support outside lectures and tutorials, along with a personal tutor for other needs. Good resources available in the library as well. The university facilities are excellent.

What I would highlight: Coventry University offers a good education for middle learning level people such as me. And as I already fucking wrote engineering faculty is great here because Coventry has historical roots in engineering of Great Britain. Its engineering at its finest, because Coventry is historical engineering place. Some of societies are great such as Mechanical Eng one. I have attended several workshops and informative sessions for free. I would recommend Coventry with no hesitation.

What I would highlight: Very good, i tend to take part more on the academic side of things and having to fend for my self does cause some difficulties but overall the experience is a positive one and look forward to the years to come. Theres various workshops or events in a wide range of subjects e.g. job fairs, workshops on improving CV, opportunities for volunteering , a careers department. The course is of course accredited by the imeche organisation making it a distinguished course , lecturers have various styles of teaching which have their pros and cons but more often than not its advantageous to the student although with some lecturers i find i understood better if i went through the lecture at home. The course its self is very challenging (least in this first year) constantly striving to get the best out of you and provides sufficient support (maths/software workshops most days of the week to help if you are struggling. There's a wide range of societies to choose from, the competitive ones such as , football, rugby (league and union ) ,as well as others are part of the BUCS league making it difficult to break into the first team although they offer give it a go sessions where you can play for fun without the competitive aspect of it.
