"Mechanical technology is the part of mechanical engineering that deals with the creation of a piece, starting from the raw material or a semi-finished product, through the various processes until reaching a well-defined shape, determined by the functions that the object in question. This scientific branch includes a rational series of operations, called phases of the processing cycle, which using the properties of the raw materials, bring a specific metal object to the required geometric shape, dimensions and properties by successive approximations. Mechanical technology therefore includes a series of transformation of metallic materials. The transformation processes are generally very long and only at last process of a production chain we could speak of a finished product. In general, semi-finished products come in and out from one process to another. At the exit of each process, in addition to the semi-finished product, there are also production waste, energy that can be partially reused, such as the steam used during the process condensed, then, in water at high temperature, while the rest part is irreversibly lost.
