Why should I come to Pendleton College?
An excellent one year stepping stone towards advanced study and practical work in Media. This course offers students the chance to experience and enjoy the subject. Our outstanding facilities help students learn pre and post-production techniques in using the television studio and desk-top publishing technology in the ICT Suite. Theory and practice are treated together to help students gain confidence and skills in this rewarding subject.

What will I study?
You will complete six units which will give experience in a wide range of media production activities. You will make a video, produce an advertising campaign and a television programme. You will also study how the media industry works and what it produces.

What will I achieve?
This course will allow you to progress on to the National Diploma. The intermediate course will not guarantee you a job in the media, but the skills of team work, initiative and problem solving which it develops will be welcomed by all employers.

How is the course assessed?
There are no exams. You will be assessed on the six units of coursework you will cover in the year.

What else will I do?
Students will visit local cinemas, the Museum of Film, Television and Photography in Bradford and filming on location, as well as attending lectures held by BBC journalists and marketing professionals. You will also have the opportunity to visit media companies to see the media industry at work.
