Mixing and mastering techniques and approaches using a range of software and freely available plug-ins. Industry secrets to enable you to achieve professional sounding recordings on a home computer set up. The tutor will provide basic multitrack recordings for you to practise with.

About this course

- Use reverb appropriately to give different parts their own place in the overall sound.
- Balance levels to achieve an optimised gain structure

- Check that a piece of music is ready to finally go onto CD.

Tutor demonstration and explanation, and class discussion followed by practical work. You will work on an individual Mac workstation to practise set themes, techniques and skills, applying these to your developing ideas and material. You will present your work in progress regularly to the group, and receive feedback, support and encouragement from your tutor throughout the course.
