These chapters deal with shopping, eating in restaurants, entertainment, professions, countries and nationalities, work, time, travel, finding your way around, making an appointment, telephone calls and family life. Modern Greek Beginners level 2
Your Course
This course will suit those who have studied Modern Greek for at least a term. Lessons will be taught from 'Communicate in Greek' by K. Arvanitakis Vol 1 (Units 5-10). These chapters deal with shopping, eating in restaurants, entertainment, professions, countries and nationalities, work, time, travel, finding your way around, making an appointment, telephone calls and family life.
This course feeds into Beginners Level 3 [summer term 2010]. During the Beginners Level 2 course students will take short internal assessments in speaking and writing. This will help to prepare for the OCR Asset Language tests that will be taken at the end of term.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the 10 week course you will have been given the opportunity to:
· Communicate at a basic level in a number of topic areas (shopping, entertainment, travel, work)
· Write a simple paragraph on the above topic areas
· Increase your knowledge of basic grammar
Your Tutor
Nicolas Voliotis holds a BA in Ancient and Modern Greek Literature and a BA in History/Archaeology from the University in Athens. He was also awarded an MA and a PhD in Education from the from the University of Sheffield. He taught Modern Greek Literature in Greece for twenty years and has been teaching Modern Greek Literature and language to GCSE and A level in England for several years. He has taught Modern Greek at Cambridge University.

Tuition fees: £ 95
Method of payment: Fees for short courses (10 weeks or less) to be paid in full at enrolment and for long courses (12 weeks or more) fees of 50% can be paid at enrolment plus 50% as a cheque. Course places cannot be reserved without receipt of both payments.

Please note that there are no classes during half term Monday 15th - Friday 19th February 2010 unless otherwise stated.
