Music Diploma - Level 3 Overview

This course is designed to give a comprehensive grounding in music and music technology for those who want to pursue a career in the performance aspects of the music industry.

At interview, we will discuss with you your entry qualifications, experience and career goals. This, along with your audition, will form the basis of your starting point on the Music Level 3 programme.

The 90 Credit Diploma is a one-year programme. However, following successful completion of the 90 Credit Diploma and appropriate achievement of other elements of the study programme, you may then be able to progress to a second year of study on the 180 Credit Extended Diploma in Music.

The 90 Credit Diploma enables you to develop practical skills as a musician as well as accessing state-of-the-art music technology equipment to support and enhance your employability skills within the music industry.

Using a range of rehearsal and performance opportunities, you will develop your practical performance skills and study areas such as composition, theory and harmony, improvisation, music business, performance practice and music technology.

Continuing to the 180 Credit Diploma, you will be able to continue to develop you skills and understanding of the music industry. You'll work on live briefs and meet professionals from the music industry.

Students interested in a music or music technology course can check out what current students are up to at www.createrecords.co.uk; a unique platform showcasing the very best in student songwriting, production and performance – exclusive to West Notts students and staff.
