If you are determined to make it to the top in this profession then our course will train you to support your career aspirations. With practical sessions to back up the theory, you will learn how to successfully complete live sound recording projects, typical of those found in any contemporary professional recording and production environment.

Progression:
On successful completion you may progress to:
• work at entry level as a member of an audio production team
• an honours and/or foundation degree.

• a BTEC national award
• equivalent qualifications or relevant work experience.

What does the course involve?:

The following modules are covered:
• contextual studies
• the music business and the entrepreneur
• music, health and the law
• project realisation
• audio recording
• critical music listening
• acoustics
• live sound system operations
• live sound system specification
• the principles of musical sound.

Are there any exams?:
Modules are assessed by a mixture of coursework, in-class tests and examinations.
