To improve your sight singing and aural skills - not just for singers!
Mostly group work led from the piano or music worksheets : whole class singing. Some singing or writing tasks tackled in small groups or pairs. Practice between classes is essential to your progress.

About this course

- Count, read and sing simple tunes in easy keys
- Understand notation and be able to write music clearly - basic literacy
- Hold a harmony line while others are performed
- Recognise and sing any interval from the tonic in major keys.

Course programme

- learning tunes by ear and by reading
- Regular practice of interval recognition and reproduction
- interpreting and singing from staff notation
- reading and writing rhythm
- sight-singing exercises in major keys
- solo line and part-singing (singing in harmony).

Manuscript paper required. Music materials will be supplied. Please bring a folder to collect your hand-outs, pencil/pen, eraser. You may wish to bring a device to record parts of the session.
