National Award in Production Arts (Make-up)
Aim This one year course is excellent preparation for studying the National Award in Production Arts (make up).
Content You will spend time developing level 1 NVQ hairdressing skills, covering shampooing, conditioning, blow-drying and basic cutting skills. You will also undertake practical training in cosmetic make up, manicures and eye treatments.

Topics studied on this course include:
· Cosmetic make up
· Health and safety in the workplace
· Providing manicures
· Eyelash tinting
· Eyebrow shaping
· Eyelash perming
· NVQ hairdressing at level 1.

Assessment is continuous throughout the course using a mixture of practical, oral and written methods with an external test.

Students will also be screened (in the College) and must achieve literacy and numeracy at the level appropriate to the course.
