Native North American historiography, facts and historical figures, indigenous forms of record keeping, memory, oral
history, sacred histories and narratives.

This interactive lecture course will be delivered through a presentation, accompanied by PowerPoint slides. We will use a variety maps, images, video and text throughout the sessions. A list of recommended reading material and recommended films will be provided, but this is optional. Please bring pen and paper. Recommended readings/books: 1. Calloway,Colin G. First Peoples: a Documentary Survey of American Indian History 2. Hurtado, Albert and Peter Iversen (eds) Major Problems in American Indian History 3. Nichols, Roger L. American Indians in US History.
