      Description

This course allows you to quality assure assessment practices in the workplace and also to lead teams of staff engaged in quality assurance work for your organisation. This qualification replaces the old V1 award and is the new award for professionals who want to internally verify NVQ's and other qualifications. You need to either be working as an Internal Verifier for your organisation or else be making that progression from the TAQA award to this IQA qualification as an academic route as a part of your CPD. .

      To take into account

      · What are the objectives of this course?

The objectives of this course are to become a competent professional working in the quality assurance aspects of a learning and development organisation. This could be in the teaching and training sector for example.

      · Who is it intended for?

The IQA Certificate is for those professionals who lead the verification process at their place of work. Or who want to progress from their role as an IQA in their organisation to that of a manager who is leading the verification process.

      · Requirements

You must have sound literacy and numeracy skills. Progression required from the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (Assessors Award). You are required to demonstrate competency in order to enroll for this course. Do you have either work experience in the subject area you want to verify and are you intending to lead the internal verification process?

      · Qualification

This is the full IQA Certificate that allows you to consider all quality assurance aspects in your organisation and to chair and lead internal standardisation meetings and manage all staff concerned with the IQA processes.

      · What marks this course apart?

We offer flexible routes to learning, no semester schedules and no attendance at lectures required. You can start your course and move through it how you want and at your pace and under your direction. This makes us better than colleges and universities as they only offer traditional prescribed routes to study. Our courses are also fully supported unlike most other organisations offering distance learning, we actually offer detailed feedback and help you understand what is required. . . Our turn around on assignment feedback is quicker we have a 7 day policy if not quicker in this respect. Your tutor can be contacted 24/7 via our Moodle LMS and again you will get an immediate response. Attendance is not required and costs can be kept down for you. Your time can be better spent reading and researching not getting caught up in the classroom so no more school type scenarios that's for kids right. Cost comparisons are massive due to the fact that our model of education using technology and the Internet allows us to reduce costs and pass these benefits onto our students. However we do offer extra mentoring for all our courses that can be booked out as an additional requirement if required so you never get left behind. We are subsequently more cost effective than colleges and universities even if you take out our mentoring options. If you have outside commitments, children to care for and other interests in the evening or unsociable work hours you can still engage with us as we are always here 24/7 - 365 days a year. Our Moodle Learning Management System never sleeps. We will always communicate with you as we are dedicated to that task unlike colleges or universities whose staffs have a million and one things to do in the working week and you can never get to talk to anyone when you need them? Call us now to discuss how we can help you save time and money on your required studies.

      · What happens after requesting information?

We require a completed application form along with a discussion with one of our team to ensure that you meet all of the requirements for entry to this qualification. This includes good written English as some theory responses are required. You also need to be working in a professional capacity in this sector to prove competence.

      · How do you assess me on the course?

You will work with your own personal tutor on Moodle and create a portfolio of evidence. You will need to be observed assessing your staff/employees/meetings for evidence as well as participate in professional discussions that will be recorded. Assessment will be by a range of methods such as written and practical assignments, professional discussion with your tutor, question and answering via our Moodle forums, observation and practical work assignments. You will be supported by an allocated tutor who will also be your assessor. You will also need to be observed working with your team in a professional context during the course. Further to a risk assessment further observational charges could apply. Sometimes a video is taken of your sessions to inform best practice.

      · Can I sign up with a deposit?

Yes a £100 deposit gets you signed up for our course and we would then expect a regular monthly payment thereafter.

      · How does the mentoring work?

If you are struggling with the course then we can arrange dedicated 1-2-1 mentoring sessions with your tutor for £30 an hour.

What I would highlight: I really enjoyed the course, it stretched and challenged me and I found it difficult at times but this was a good thing as it developed the gaps in my theory knowledge.
What could be improved: Nothing really.
