This qualification is applicable to anyone, across any sector. Mental health problems are apparent not only within the Health and Care sectors, but in society at large and so becomes relevant to anyone who wishes to expand their knowledge for personal or professional reasons.

It covers specific mental health topics, their symptoms, the support needs of an individual experiencing it, best practice for how it can be managed and the roles and needs of family and friends of the individual.

About this course

Progression This qualification is particularly relevant for job roles such as (but not limited to) care assistants, adult social care team members, healthcare support service workers, substance misuse workers and counsellors within any sector.

Must reside in England and be over 19 years old to receive government funding.
