Homo neanderthalensis remains the most iconic hominin species yet described in the history of palaeoanthropology. Our view of this human changed dramatically since the early 1900 and as with all aspects of hominin evolution, continues to change with the discovery of new evidence. The science of Archaeogenetics has been an enormous part this shedding light on our genetic relationship with this human and their relationship with other extinct hominin species. This course will bring you up to date with the latest new and research on this most famous species.

You will be taught in a number of ways including presentations with visual examples, discussions and group work. Bring a notepad and pen. There will be no other costs for the course. Look out for the specialist guest lectures in our Science programme.
