Course Details:
The class is divided into three distinct groups: Networking technology knowledge, the study of TCP/IP and Networking Practices. It is designed for IT support professionals and service technicians who want to obtain a deeper understanding of LAN technologies. Students will learn about network media, topologies, protocols, operating systems and administration. Students will learn the fundamentals of TCP/IP and Subnetting. Students will install, configure and administer Microsoft operating systems in a LAN and WAN environment. Students will gain additional troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and basic network knowledge. The instructor is a Microsoft Certified System Engineer and a Hardware Engineer.
• Overview of network operating systems, TCP/IP and network application, hardware and topologies.
• Plan, prepare and install hardware and software for simple Peer to Peer and Client/Server based networks.
• Configure access, security and storage rights for end users.
• Plan and integrate both network hardware and software.
Course Assessment Assessment will be by practical assignment. Material
CBT’s (Computer Based Training), Books, purchase of own book is advantageous.
