Course Progression: The course is on a rolling programme. You can start at any time. You must be working in a Primary, Secondary or Infant school for a minimum of 10 hours per week.

Careers Progression: Progress onto the NVQ level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools

Course Description:
The course is for Teaching Assistants with a minimum of 6 months experience of working as a Teaching Assistant in either paid or voluntary employment.

Description Breakdown:
The NVQ takes between six and twelve months to complete.
Level 2 - successful completion of 7 units, 5 mandatory and 2 optional.
An assessor will visit your workplace on a regular basis and observe you carrying out a range of activities.
You will usually have 3-4 observations. Afterwards, you will need to allow for time out of the classroom (30-60 minutes) for feedback. You will also have 1:1 sessions each month to help you complete your portfolio.
This is a requirement for working with children â€" schools will carry it out.
