OCR Level 1 Award in Text Processing

Course summary:
The Award in Text Processing (Business Professional) is offered at 3 levels (Level 1, Level 2 & Level 3) and comprises of 2 units - Text Production (mandatory/core unit) and either Word Processing or Audio Transcription.

The units studied will enable you to gain knowledge and understanding of applications that meet the requirements of a modern business environment and develop core business skills to suit your ability in areas such as using keyboard functions and creating complex and specialist business documents.

Assessment procedure:
Subject exams offered by the OCR examination board are taken throughout the course. Single subject qualifications and combined certificates will be gained on successful completion.

Progression opportunities:
At the end of the course you may wish to continue your studies to gain additional units or progress on to a higher level.

Many part-time students at South Tyneside College do not have to pay for their course. We may also be able to help you with some of the extra costs associated with college, eg travel, childcare, equipment, books etc. In addition, depending on the course and the number of hours a week you study, you may be eligible for an Adult Learners†Grant.
