About this course
There are no entry requirements but it is not a suitable qualification for complete beginners. Ideally you must be using IT in your day to day job, as a hobby or to carry out voluntary work for a local charitable group or organisation.

Introduction:
ITQ is a pioneering and flexible Information Technology Qualification designed to address the varying needs of IT skills in the workplace. It is the first breed of new National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) designed in partnership with employers, to meet the increasing demand for computer skills.
Study Mode & Location:
This is a part-time course which is available at the Preston College Fulwood Campus or any of the Community venues around the Preston Area within a taught classroom environment or flexible learning. Depending on demand, this course could also possibly be delivered and assessed in your place of employment.
Course Content:

- Presentation software

Your choice of units will be discussed with your assessor at your first session.
Assessment:
Candidates will be assessed on their ability to competently perform a range of tasks. Your assessor will mark your work against the performance criteria for each unit. The work you produce should be real work although for the optional units, some simulated tasks are also acceptable evidence of your competence.
Careers & Progression Opportunities:
You could progress to ITQ Level 3 or Foundation Degree in ICT.
How To Apply
You will need to complete a Further Education Application Form. These will be available from mid-May.
Many courses have limited places so please return your application form as soon as possible. Following acceptance of your application, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
