Cost
Students will be expected to contribute towards travel, residential and additional course costs. There is a course fleece that can be purchased and you will also need to provide your own personal equipment.
The Programme
The course covers both the theoretical and practical aspects of a wide range of land and water based outdoor adventurous activities. Assignments are based on realistic situations from the world of outdoor education.
The Programme Content
Memorable times are guaranteed. On this course we aim to make it as practical as possible; often getting very cold and very wet in the process!! An open mind, willingness to try anything and a sense of adventure are essential. The course covers a number of broad themes including improving personal skills and performance in a range of outdoor activities, coaching and leadership, journeying and environmental aspects. At all times health and safety and the educational value of the activity will be examined.
Progression / Careers
This course will prepare you for work in the outdoor industry or for a place on one of the many higher education outdoor adventure courses. As the course involves a considerable amount of personal development, options are open for moving onto a number of areas when the course is completed.
