Aims
- To understand the role of an instructor and their responsibilities
- To train the instructor to a level of competence
- To enable him/her to deliver the Instant Training Overhead Crane Operator Training Course
- To enable the instructor to assess the competence of his trainees in the safe use of Overhead Cranes.
All theory, covering aspects of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Riddor 95, the European six pack. Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998.
- Introduction to Instructional Techniques.
- Live presentation of aspects of the health and safety awareness section by each of the students.
NB: The student will complete various segments of these, several times during the day.
- Presentation of the Slinging & Lifting section.
- Theoretical Instruction on Overhead Cranes.
- Slinging Techniques - theory and practical.
- SWL's and reduced lifting capacities with slinging tackle.
- Pre use inspections, conducting & reporting defects.
- Assessment paper.
