Painting - Exploring Mixed Media*
Your Course
This new course offers the student looking for experimental creative opportunities an exciting challenge.
While painting as an art form has a rich and established tradition, today's materials provide unprecedented scope for creating paintings with mixed media, many of which can be found simply by recourse to 'throw-away' items, such as off cuts of cloth, or packaging.
Participants will be encouraged to explore their own interests and guidance will be available in relation to techniques needed in the use of mixed media. Although some sample materials will be provided, students will be required to purchase paint and papers etc.
Learning Outcomes
You will have the opportunity to enrich your experience through the act of painting and extending this skill through the use of mixed media which immediately gains a new identity as part of your painting. Further valuable experience can be gained from the rich diversity of approach that a group can offer, and from the chance to explore mixed-media painting through the work of contemporary artists.
