Suitable For
This course is aimed at people who have no formal training in counselling skills. The course aims to enhance and improve verbal and written communication skills of participants. It will prove especially useful to those:

Method of Assessment
A Certificate is awarded to those who successfully complete the course and meet the following assessment criteria:

- class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt">The undertaking of a series of practice session demonstrating the skills learned to be observed and assessed by both peers and tutor
- class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt">Portfolio of material
- class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt">Final piece of written work on:
· Counselling Theory (250 - 500 words)
· Models of Practice (250 - 500 words)
· A reflective piece of writing (750 words)
- 80% attendance is also required.
Progression
Successful completion of this course allows students to progress onto the ABC Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills.
