This course offers a basic introduction to the working environment of the Applemac Computer, its running system 'Snow Leopard', and Adobe Photoshop and InDesign CS3/4 software packages. Aimed at the hobbyist/budding designer, this course offers a basic knowledge of the two softwares. This short course is an ideal starting point for those wishing to improve their skills, and/or learn professional procedures.
What will you study
You will learn the basic working environment of both Adobe softwares. Adobe Photoshop CS3/4: Opening/creating new image files, placing images, layers, masks, cut-outs, manipulating or 'airbrushing' images, enhance colour/sharpness etc., touch up/repair images, red eye correction, montage/collage and special effects. Adobe InDesign CS3/4: Opening/creating new documents, Master pages, layers, placing images and text, text run-around, fonts and type sizes, colour swatches, and special effects. All learners will be given handouts and tasks relating to each session. You will also be expected to take your own notes to aid your learning and progression. Websites and books for additional learning will be recommended.
How will you be assessed
Through information gathered from the initial self-assessment form (filled out on first lesson). Continual informal tutor assessment with verbal and directive feedback, and one-to-one tuition offered.
