PROGRAMME CONTENT/STRUCTURE
Apprenticeships provide a great way for students to learn on the job, expand their knowledge, develop thier skills, gain qualifications and earn money all at the same time.

There are two levels of Apprenticeships:

An Apprenticeship develops skills and gives an introduction to a chosen area of work. On this programme students will study for a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 and if successful can choose to progress onto an Advanced Apprenticeship.

An Advanced Apprenticeship is designed for the managers, technical staff and supervisors of the future. On this programme students will study an NVQ Level 3.

In addition to leading NVQs, there are opportunities at both levels to gain Key Skills qualifications and Technical Certificates. This means that students can start at the level that suits them best and then go on to study further.

Apprenticeship and Advanced Apprenticeships are offered in the following vocational areas:

Apprenticeships (NVQ Level 2)

Administration;
Carpentry and Joinery;
Customer Service;
Hairdressing;
Information Technology;
Plumbing and Domestic Heating; and
Service and Maintenance, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC).

Advanced Apprenticeships (NVQ Level 3)

Administration;
Customer Service;
Heating and ventilation Installation (Pipe Fitter/Welder);
Plumbing and Domestic Heating; and
Service and Maintenance, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC).

PROGRESSION/CAREERS OPPORTUNITIES
Progression is possible in some areas from Apprentiecship level 2 to advanced level 3.
