This course is delivered in partnership with London South Bank University [LSBU] and the qualification is a LSBU award. The Higher National Certificate (HNC) is primarily for those employed in the construction industry who is seeking to gain an industry recognized qualification. The course provides one of the key qualifications in Construction Management, Surveying and Architectural Technology disciplines.
The essential aim of the course is to provide students with a range of knowledge and skills needed to fulfil a wide range of technical and managerial work. The outcome should be technicians who are able to tackle and take responsibility for well specified positions throughout the construction industry.

Many students move towards professional status by progressing to the BSc (Hons) courses offered in surveying i.e. Property or Commercial Management, Construction Management or Architectural Technology, at LSBU or any other university.
Course Structure:
Students will be required to complete ten units of study over their enrolment period. Generally, eight units will be taken at Level 1 and two units at Level 2. The Level 2 units will be taken in the second year.
Students enrolled on this course are also enrolled as LSBU student. All facilities at LSBU are available to STC students registered on this course.

Assessment:
Each module is assessed using a combination of the following methods: Assignments; Case Studies; Presentations; Practical and Tests/ Exams.
