About this course
Applicants should have a good standard of education including GCSE's 4 D's including Maths and English. You will be required to take an Initial Assessment in Literacy and Numeracy and a brief interview with the course co-ordinator.

Is the course for me?
The programme is designed for students who have gained a job in the construction trade and wish to gain the relevant skills for their chosen occupation.
What will I learn?
You will complete a framework of study involving: NVQ Level 2 - (WBR) Work Based Recorder Portfolio, Intermediate Construction Award (Technical Certificate), Health and Safety - (CSCS) Construction Skills Certificate Scheme Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR), Key Skills - Application of Number and Communication Level 1. On completion of the Apprenticeship programme you will have achieved a qualification which is recognised in industry as a competent trades person. Practical work will be carried out in the Training Workshop and theory will be in a classroom environment.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment will be continuous throughout the programme and will consist of a combination of practical assessments, a Job Related Knowledge Assessment and external tests. Work based evidence (in the form of a portfolio) will also be required to complete the framework. External tests are on-line computer based examinations for all areas of assessment.
