Entry Requirements
For this programme, CACHE recommend applicants should have achieved a GCSE at Grade D or equivalent. All applicants will also be interviewed and asked to sit a literacy and numeracy assessment.

It is recommended that applicants complete 120 hours of practical experience during the course either as an employee or volunteer..

Suitable For

This course is suitable for anyone who is working, in paid employment, either full-time, part-time, or volunteering as a teaching assistant with children in Foundation stage or key stages 1-4 up to the age of 16 years. You need to be working with pupils individually or in group under the supervision of a teacher.

Course Content

There are two core study units:

Unit 1 - Teaching and learning in schools

Unit 2 - Effective communication within a safe school environment

Students are not be formally assessed on their practical skills.

Method of Assessment

Unit 1 is assessed through an externally devised and externally assessed unit assignment.

Unit 2 is assessed through an externally devised and internally assessed unit assignment.
