About this course

The recommended entry requirements are successful completion of year 1 of the level 2 Certificate in Electrotechnical technology (EDFE1). Suitable prior learning or experience may also be taken into account on a case-by-case basis. You will also be required repeat some initial assessments tests.

Is this course for you
If you have successfully completed year 1 of the Level 2 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology (EDFE1) or have suitable accredited prior learning then this is the course for you to continue your electrical installation training. You must have a good general education at Level 2 and be reasonable fit and capable of accepting a challenge. Building on year 1 of the course you will continue to learn about the application of Health and Safety and electrical principles before progressing to the theory and practice of actual electrical installations. These subjects all form the core knowledge for employment in the electrical contracting industry.

How will you be assessed
Assessment is carried out continuously throughout the programme and each of the two theory units will be assessed by externally set multiple choice exams and practical assessments. You will be expected to build a portfolio of evidence of your work and you will need to show good compliance to Health and Safety throughout the course.
