Is this course for you
If you are an absolute beginner or wish to gain a more formal level of knowledge you†ll start your training in electrical installation here. You must have a good general education at Level 2 and be reasonable fit and capable of accepting a challenge. As well as fundamentals like health and safety and the principles of Electrotechnology, you†ll learn the basics of electrical installation which forms the core knowledge for employment in the electrical contracting industry.

What will you study
The course develops knowledge and understanding in electrical installations and the electrical contracting industry. In year 1 you will study the following: * Health and Safety * Legal requirements for working in the industry * Application of basic units used in Electrotechnology * Basic scientific concepts * Basic electrical circuitry and applications

How will you be assessed
Assessment is carried out continuously throughout the programme and each of the two theory units will be assessed by externally set multiple choice exams. You will be expected to build a portfolio of evidence of your work and you will need to show good compliance to Health and Safety throughout the course.
