Is this course for you
This course is for those involved in the electrical industry who are required to carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT). You should be a practicing electrician with knowledge of the design of electrical installations and how fault protection is provided for, in addition you will need to be familiar with the IEE Code of practice in respect of portable appliance testing.

What will you study
The course requires knowledge of electrical installations, in particular fault protection. The course teaches the practical and theory elements of the following: * Equipment construction * Inspection (User and Formal) * Combined inspection and testing * Recording and use of instruments and equipment * Practical sessions

How will you be assessed
Assessment is carried out continuously throughout the programme. There is a multiple choice exam which is carried out at the end of day 2 of the course. You will need to show good compliance to Health and Safety throughout the course.
