Course Details

This qualification is designed for those who use substances hazardous to health at work. It introduces candidates to substances, the risks and controls available, and outlines what to expect from a control of sustances hazardous to health (COSHH) assessment. The qualification will prepare employees to contribute to the safer use of hazardous substances in their workplaces. Course Content 1. Introduction to COSHH Candidates will understand that some substances commonly found in the workplace are hazardous to health. 2. COSHH Regulations Candidates will understand the scope of legislative requirements. 3. Health problems Candidates will understand how hazardous substances cause injury and ill-health 4. Identifying hazardous substances Candidates will understand the different ways that hazardous substances can be identified. 5. Controlling hazardous substances Candidates will understand the risks associated with hazardous substances 6. COSHH assessments Candidates will understand the value and purpose of conducting COSHH assessments

Course length:
The training time to cover the syllabus is at least three hours and is typically covered in half a day. The time taken to deliver the programme does not include coffee/tea/lunch breaks, revision sessions or %u2018mock%u2019 examinations

Venue:
Ports and Logistics Learning Centres in Hull, Goole or Immingham, or cleint's own premises

Suitable for all employees, it enables them to contribute to the identification and control of substances hazardous to health The qualification will be delivered by the Ports and Logistics Business Unit at Hull College.
