About the course:
This is a Fast Track blended learning course comprising 50% distance learning and 50% class-room based learning.
The modules studied are:
* Training in Context Mid Jan - Mid Feb
* Identifying and Prioritising Needs Mid Feb - Early April
* Designing Training and Assessment Early April - May
* Delivering and Evaluating Training Early June - Early July
* Additional elements include communication, self-management - improving your own learning and performance, understanding the work context and relevant legislation.

By studying for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Certificate in Training Practice at the Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College (EHWLC) you will be able to:
- identify factors that impact on the effectiveness of the learning process
- identify the needs of the different stakeholders in the evaluation and assessment process
- write objectives for learning sessions
- create a cohesive framework for the learning event
- become familiar with the range and application of a number of different evaluation and assessment tools
- consider other issues, such as copyright and licensing, diversity, legislations and codes of practice, which must be taken into account when designing and delivering learning events

The CIPD Certificate in Training Practice is studied over one evening per week, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for 6 months. It is a demanding course, you will be expected to produce five pieces of work. Allocating self-study time is as important as attending the class. Successful completion of the course requires that you attend at least 80% of the classes.

When you enrol on the course, you will join the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (additional fee is payable) if you are not already a member. As a CIPD member, in addition to the colleges own Learning Web, you have access to the resources available on the CIPD website and to the dedicated Human Resources Library at Institute's Wimbledon headquarters.

By studying for your CIPD qualification at EHWLC you benefit from the expertise and experience of highly qualified tutors, all of whom have relevant experience as well as teaching qualifications and CIPD qualifications. The college provides extensive support for our students: small class sizes; experienced, dedicated staff and access to course information and other materials via the internet. In addition, your tutor is available for 30 minutes before every session for individual student support. Tutors are also available to answer queries by email and can be consulted at pre-arranged times outside of the pre-session timeslot if required.

Assessment:
The CIPD Certificate in Training Practice is awarded on successful completion of a work-based project, two written assignments and two skills based assignments. Assessments are verified and agreed by a CIPD moderator to ensure the high standards of the CIPD are attained. Because the project is work-based you will need access to company HR/Training information to complete this effectively.

After the course:
Successful completion of the Certificate in Training Practice gives you a recognised qualification as evidence of your training skills. It also enables you to progress to other CIPD Professional Standards Qualifications.
