- Identification and processing of cut materials and pot plants
- Introduction to art and design for florists
- Introduction to plant processes and planted design
- Introduction to hand tied and presentation floral designs
- Introduction to funeral and sympathy floral designs
- Design and construction of floral designs
- Simple floral wedding designs and accessories
- Display of floristry goods
- Introduction to working in the industry
- Process cost and evaluate floral designs
- Introduction to function decorating using floral displays
Assessment Method
Written assignments (1 per unit) written multiple choice test and practical assessments.
Progression Routes
Successful students can progress onto the Advanced National Certificate in Floristry. Industry links The floristry department has a number of local contacts with floristry shops and if necessary can assist students in finding a floristry work placement.
Specialist Equipment Needed
Flowers will be provided but students need to buysome basic sundries from the College shop.
