This course is an advanced electrical design programme designed for self-motivated personnel, self-employed people and managers in related areas of design, especially electrical installation designers. It will enable people employed in the electrical installation industry to design electrical contracts, to be aware of design problems, and to test completed installations with confidence.

Entry requirements
The course is intended for those who already possess the following: 16th Regulations, and/or City & Guilds 2391 Level III Certificate in Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations.

What will I study?
You will study: The in-depth application of BS7671 to various industrial & commercial situations; Electrical Design Techniques and Testing and Inspection of Electrical Installations.

How will I be assessed?
Assessment will be by practical and written assessments of the City & Guilds 2391 (design module).

Career Opportunities & Progression
The National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) recommends that all Qualified Supervisors and operatives having direct responsibility for or being involved in inspection and testing should gain the 2391 Certificate.
