Course content:
The site carpentry apprenticeship programme is a work based learning programme aimed at people from the age of 16. As an apprentice you can earn while you learn site carpentry.
Apprentices are employed as site carpenters and will receive training in all aspects of the trade as outlined in the framework listed. At the end of the apprenticeship you will gain a Site Carpentry NVQ level 2 qualification. The training for a site carpentry and key skills qualification takes place in college as well with the employer. You will attend college one day week over a 2 year period.

Course Structure:
Site Carpentry apprenticeship framework requirements? Candidates are required to take six mandatory units to achieve the full award. The units are: - VR01 Conform to General Workplace Safety - VR02 Conform to Efficient Work Practices - VR03 Move and Handle Resources Site Carpentry Option Route (any three units from the following) -VR09 Install First Fixing Components - VR10 Install Second Fixing Components - VR11 Erect Structural Carcassing Components - VR12 Maintain Non-structural Carpentry Work - VR13 Set Up and Use Circular Saws Plus the following: Key skills at level 1 in Maths and English Technical certificate Employers Rights and Responsibility Certificate Health and Safety Test

All students have access to our fully equipped state of the art learning centre. This included free internet access.

Assessment:
Ongoing throughout the programme in the workplace and at college
