Is the course for me?
The Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) is for bus, coach and lorry drivers who drive professionally throughout the UK. It has been developed as a requirement of the EU Directive 2003/59, which is designed to improve the knowledge and skills of professional LGV and PCV drivers throughout their working life. Driver CPC requires you to complete a minimum of 35 hours of periodic training during every five year cycle for as long as you wish to continue driving professionally.
What will I learn?
Periodic training is designed to complement the individual driver's work and be relevant to their every day job. Courses may include SAFED (Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving) style training, defensive driving techniques, first aid, health and safety, driver's hours regulations and tachographs. Courses will also enable drivers to keep up to date with changing regulations. Our portfolio of Driver CPC courses is designed for entry level learners and executives and includes: *One day workshops (7 hours) *Full Driver CPC (35 hours) *Technical + Specialist Qualifications
How will I be assessed?
Every 7 hours periodic training that is taken will be recorded and on completion of 35 hours training you will be issued a driver qualification card from the DVLA.
