This new course is offered in partnership with the University of Greenwich. The course will be delivered by a combination of face-to-face tutorials and 12 - 15 taught workshops in year one and 8 in year two. The course is targeted at qualified teachers and trainers in the post-compulsory education and training (PCET) sector, i.e. those teaching students aged 16 years or over, who do not possess.

About this course
Applicants should hold one of the following: Certificate in Education (Cert . Ed.) or Bachelor of Education (BEd) awarded by a UK university or other recognised body. This should normally be supported by at least two years full-time teaching experience (or its part-time equivalent). Cert . Ed. equivalent qualification. This should normally be supported by at least two years of full-time teaching or training experience. UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) . This should normally be supported by at least two years full-time teaching experience (or its part-time equivalent). Although there is no requirement for a specific number of teaching hours, applicants must be employed in a part-time or full-time teaching role in education. Acceptance for the course is subject to a successful interview with the course tutor.

This new course is offered in partnership with the University of Greenwich. The course will be delivered by a combination of face-to-face tutorials and 12 - 15 taught workshops in year one and 8 in year two. The course is targeted at qualified teachers and trainers in the post-compulsory education and training (PCET) sector, i.e. those teaching students aged 16 years or over, who do not possess a degree and have therefore completed the Certificate in Education (rather than the PGCE). It is a programme of continuous professional development and a bridge to either a BA (Hons) in Education & Training or a BSc (Hons) in Education & Training.
Course Content:
The programme will progress within the structure outlined below. All dates/times will be confirmed as soon as they are available.
- Academic Writing, Critical Thinking and Research (30 credits)
Students select two from a choice of:
- Perspectives on disruption (15 credits)
- Adult learning in PCET (15 credits)
- Language, communication and learning (15 credits)
Vocational Relevance:
The course aims to not only provide students with the opportunity of building on their existing qualifications, but to aid and advance professional development by focusing on highly relevant work-based issues.

This is a part-time blended learning study programme involving face-to-face tutorials and taught workshops.

Each course is assessed by an assignment or portfolio designed to further personal and professional development. All assignments have high professional relevance, clear work-based institutional focus and are academically demanding.
Progression Routes:
Successful completion of the Foundation Degree will provide students with the option of upgrading to a full BA or BSc degree through a further year of study at the University of Greenwich.
