Is this course right for me?

This Health and Safety Executive (HSE)approved three-day course provides the relevant knowledge and skills development to enable you to become a competent First Aider in the workplace and is valid for 3 years.

What will I be learning?

It includes resuscitation, managing the unconscious casualty, treating and controlling bleeding, as well as personal hygiene and cross infection when treating wounds, treating burns and scalds, treating injuries to bones, muscles and joints, treating minor injuries, recognising and addressing shock, transporting ill / injured casualties, treating eye injuries and rinsing out eyes, poisons, gases and fumes, recognising illness, simple record keeping, using the materials in the First Aid box and being familiar with duties of employers.

How will I learn?

Classroom based workshop with a mixture of theory and practical sessions in which the delegates will participate. The final session is a practical assessment.

What else might I want to know?

Delegates are advised to wear suitable clothing for this practical course.
This qualification is valid for a period of three years. Lunch and refreshments provided.
